"Go easy, go easy." I say because we're all feeling it. The heaviness of 2020.
Like it or not the last 12 months most likely for better or for worse did not go as planned and here you are sitting here reading this feeling like shoot. I missed it. Was there something I was supposed to get? A new program I'm supposed to do? I'm not sure what exactly it is that you personally are looking for. Maybe it just the fact that this feeling you're likely having is the same blase, je ne sais quois, what the heck just happened vibe we all have.
First, I want to tell you you're not alone. What you're seeing out there in the news and the marketplace is actually designed to frighten you into buying things. That is NOT where this - this "Green Life" I call it comes from.
Regardless of where 2020 left you, it's important to take stock. Look around. It's pretty amazing to be alive right now (thanks Liza for the Hamilton reference). So congratulations. If you're six feet above ground and still converting oxygen into carbon dioxide you did it. You made it through the shadow of existence that was the MOST well documented pandemic EVER to grace the planet earth to date. Never before have we documented our suffering so well. You get 100 media. 100 in my book, with a red pen.
That said, since you're still alive, converting oxygen, we might as well get to work, evaluating what is left of the mental status you used to call "hyper vigilance." This is something that the body works from when it is threatened and is called "Fight or Flight." What's interesting is that when faced with obstacles and problems to solve, we often fight them, or flight them (we run). I can honestly say that I have experienced this modality to a hightened degree in dealing with my own personal anxieties and fears connected to the heart. The good news is that there are ways to heal the heart, through meditating, patience and diligence. That's right, good old fashioned consistency. Showing up, even when you don't feel like going. It's the hardest thing to do, but worth the time it takes. It's what separates those that grow from those who do not. It's what changes those who change and evolve during this time from those who don't. One thing I've noticed from my own personal ups and downs is that this is a marathon, not a sprint. We only get one chance. So go do, be upset for 5 minutes about all the things you didn't get to do, or people, places and stars you didn't get to see and throw your fit, call your Mom or your bestie or that take out place that lets you ramble and do that. Then pull it together, and come back here for how we're going to spin this shit show into gold for YOU. You ready to make rain in your way, in your life, doing the things YOU love for YOUR people. Ready to start your own little planetary revolution? Well friends, it starts from within.
